In my spare time I write small applications to help make DMing the game a bit easier, as well as the occasional tool for RPGXplorer. Listed here are the applications I have written to share with others. Unless otherwise noted, all of these applications require that you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed.

Craft Calculator

Craft Calculator allows quick and easy calculations of how long it would take a character to craft an item, along with the chance of rolling a success, failure, or ruin, and the minimum and maximum number of days the crafting would take.

EL Calculator

EL Calculator is a quick and simple utility that lets you calculate the Encounter Level of a group of opponents.

Pathfinder XP Calculator

Pathfinder XP Calculator is the Pathfinder version of the 3.5 XP Calculate found below using the Pathfinder XP tables for groups of 1-3, 4-5, and 6+ characters. It also includes the option to award XP based on the encounter CR as opposed to the CR of the monsters.

XP Calculator is just that. By entering the number of players in your group and the party's average level, you can calculate and keep track of how much XP the group and each individual has earned. You can also track the amount of XP a cohor earns by entering their level and the level of their leader. You may track up to 4 cohorts. The program also allows for calculations for PCs and challenges up to level 40. There are two versions of this application. One that awards XP based on the party's average level (group version), and on that awards XP to each individual character based on their level (individual version).

XP Tables

This is a simple XP table created in Microsoft Excel which lists XP awards up to Level 40.

RPGXplorer Tools

These applications are for use with RPGXplorer.

CSV Import

CSV Import allows you to take a CSV file for feats and skills and convert them into an XML file that RPGXplorer is able to import. I do not plan on making any further updates to this application, so please do not ask.

Deity Spell List

Deity Spell List lists all of the domains, psionic specializations, and "Initiate of" spell categories associated with a given diety, including the spells and powers that belong to those domains/specializations.

Current Version: 1.1.0 (December 3, 2008) (revision notes)

Export Merge

Export Merge allows you to merge multiple export files from RPGXplorer into one file and trim out redundant data.

FeatSearch is designed to make finding feats easier in RPGXplorer easier. While RPGXplorer can search for things like the description and other information in the application's XML, it cannot search the contents of the HTML help files. FeatSearch searches only the contents of the HTML files and returns a list of anything that contains the word you have entered.

Current Version: 1.2.0 (December 3, 2008) (revision notes)

FeatXplorer displays a list of the feats stored in your RPGXplorer database in a tree view, similar to Windows Explorer. Each feat is nested below its prerequisite allowing you to see what feats are made available by taking others.

Material Editor

Material Editor lets you modify the list of materials for RPGXplorer since this functionality is currently not in the programme, and modifying the XML file by hand can be difficult. This application will be removed once RPGX allows you to edit materials from within the application. Until then, enjoy! Please Note: You MUST close RPGXplorer before making any changes to the materials list. Material changes will not show up while RPGXplorer is open and may lead to database corruption and/or loss of data. Using this tool with RPGXplorer closed is perfectly safe. Windows Vista/7 Users: Please be sure to run this application as Administrator.

Current Version: 1.2.0 (December 7, 2008) (revision notes)

Video Tutorial

RPGXHelp is designed to make creating help pages for RPGXplorer easier. Windows Vista/7 Users: Please be sure to run this application as Administrator, otherwise the application will not be able to create rule pages.

Current Version: 1.5.0 (November 22, 2008) (revision notes)

ScrollScriber lets you print selected spells, powers, features, and feats for a character directly to paper without having to open RPGXplorer and print each one manually. Simply select your character from the list, the items you want to print, click a button, and you're done! Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
